19.09.08: Painkiller review: QX Magazine

A quick mention for the new Zerocrop album Painkiller. It's great. It's got a bit of a Balearic feel believe it or not (in the eclectic sense) with Zerocrop's warbling on top and even some twanged out steel guitar. There are touches of Can, Neu and Yello with summery, musical and melancholic edges, but a high bliss factor regardless. Quite tricky to do that. There's even Inside The Prison, a touching ditty about prison sex! Luscious and dreamy in places, Painkiller is a soundscape that conjures emotions like rays of sunshine on a rainy Britain.
