The party takes place at The Flea Pit, Columbia Road, London from 8pm till midnight. Expect more selections from the fantastic new Zerocrop album Painkiller. DJ in residence for the evening will be Zerocrop designer and occasional backing vocalist Philip Marshall.

It's got a bit of a Balearic feel believe it or not (in the eclectic sense) with Zerocrop's warbling on top and even some twanged out steel guitar. There are touches of Can, Neu and Yello with summery, musical and melancholic edges, but a high bliss factor regardless. Quite tricky to do that. There's even Inside The Prison, a touching ditty about prison sex! Luscious and dreamy in places, Painkiller is a soundscape that conjures emotions like rays of sunshine on a rainy Britain. ]]> At long last, Zerocrop returns with a brand new, full-length, 10 track album, Painkiller – the ultimate music for psychopathic states of mind. The new ten-track album is released on August 18th 2008 but is available to buy in the Shop right now. Having explored sex and drugs on Fucked and Ain't No W*nker, Zerocrop turns the spotlight onto violence. The album opens with the full length version of the single Die Screaming, available now as a free download for all subscribers to the Zerocrop mailing list, and while stocks last as a free, vinyl 7inch version featuring a remixed title track and an exclusive b-side, from the Shop. Die Screaming brings together a host of screamacious performers, who you can hear a cappella in the Scream section of this brand new website.

Album highlights include: the twin epics of London's night-time, Nightvision and Scum; the pedal steel ballad of self-harm Razors; the guitar driven, deadly and desperate Ugly; the Guantanamo inspired slow Latin sounds of Inside The Prison; and the doom-laden closer Evil. ]]> A new Zerocrop single has arrived with a rather beguiling 7" sleeve. On listening to the a-side Die Screaming first thing in the morning, with its sampled screames and drone pad, I hastily fumble to flip on the b-side Still Love. Relief is achieved with its faux Led Zeppelin beat and loud discordant guitars. "You're treating me like shit, I love you for it" sings Zerocrop in a rather glam vocal. It's great! On returning to Die Screaming the whole experience is suddenly a lot more pleasurable. The song feels relaxing now with some killer lyrics about.... violent, frustrated love/hate... possibly? Or is it actually a song about George Bush and the likes? (How come there are so few protest songs nowadays when we need them?} Nice backwards bits too. It's not a classic beauty but IT IS beautiful. This single makes me realise the importance of having two sides. We have them on singles and vinyl albums but we don't have them on CDs and mp3s. Perhaps music is incomplete without two sides.
